TokIQ — Privacy Policy

Prompt engineering quizzes · Last updated 25 September 2026

TokIQ (formerly PromptIQ) is a quiz app about writing prompts for AI language models, published by OlaaSoft. This policy explains what information the app and its service process, where it is stored, and the choices available to you. Feature availability can vary by app version, platform and service configuration.

1. Accounts and Authentication

TokIQ uses Firebase Authentication. The app can create an anonymous account when an account identifier is needed for quiz access and progress, without asking you to register first. Email-and-password registration and sign-in are also supported. Google and Apple sign-in may appear only in a version where those providers have been configured and enabled.

Firebase processes the account identifier and credentials needed to authenticate you. Depending on the sign-in method, this may include your email address and display name. Passwords and third-party sign-in credentials are handled by Firebase and the selected sign-in provider; the TokIQ quiz backend does not store your password. The backend identifies requests using the random Firebase user ID and a verified ID token. Linking an anonymous account retains that account's quiz history.

2. Profile, Quiz and Progress Data

TokIQ's live API stores account-linked application data in a TokIQ-specific PostgreSQL database hosted on Railway. This can include:

Profile choices weight selection among unseen questions in the requested language and topic. A matching difficulty, AI-tool tag or purpose tag can make a question more likely to be selected, but unmatched questions remain eligible. Correct answers are returned only after an answer is submitted. Follow-up article quizzes do not add ranking points. An unanswered session stops accepting answers after 24 hours; that does not automatically delete the session record.

3. Information Stored on Your Device

The app stores language, sound and haptics settings, the learning-reminder choice, a local profile and progress cache, and subscription-entitlement state used by the inactive subscription integration. Account-scoped profile and progress caches use an account fingerprint rather than the raw account identifier and are cleared on sign-out or account deletion. Uninstalling removes local app data, but does not by itself delete data held by Firebase, the TokIQ backend, an app store or another service provider.

4. AI-Generated Content

The production AI generation worker is currently disabled while its provider accounts are being configured. New AI-generated question banks and articles are therefore unavailable in this configuration.

If generation is enabled in a later configuration, TokIQ is designed to use OpenAI, Anthropic Claude and Google Gemini to generate and independently review questions and articles. Provider requests can include the requested language and topic, editorial instructions, recent shared question titles used to avoid repetition, generic AI-tool and purpose tags, and the question being explained. Candidate content is sent to the three providers for review.

TokIQ does not add your email address, display name, Firebase user ID, password, selected answer, score, ranking, saved tool preferences, learning purposes or experience level to those requests. A selected question can indirectly reflect an interest because its shared tags affected selection. Each provider's own data practices apply when the integration is enabled; this policy makes no promise about provider retention or training controls that have not been verified for the deployed accounts.

5. Ranking Privacy

When ranking is enabled, registered users who answer a ranked question can appear in it. Ranking responses contain points, answer totals, rank and a masked label derived only from the final three characters of the email address in the verified Firebase token, such as ***com. The ranking does not expose another user's name, Firebase user ID or full email address. Firebase Authentication separately retains the email used for the account.

6. Advertising and Consent

Eligible users may see advertising served through Google AdMob and configured mediation sources such as Unity Ads and Pangle. These providers may process device and advertising identifiers, network-derived approximate location, ad interactions and diagnostic information to select, deliver, secure and measure ads, subject to applicable consent and their own policies.

Where a consent form is required, the app uses Google's User Messaging Platform before opening its ad-request gate. If consent is unavailable or withheld, the gate remains closed for that session. On iOS, an applicable tracking request is presented through the same consent sequence. Where available, choices can be reopened from Settings → Ad privacy options. A no-ads build configuration and any active premium entitlement also suppress ads.

7. Diagnostics, Analytics and App Integrity

Depending on the build configuration, TokIQ initializes Firebase Crashlytics and Analytics, Sentry and Mixpanel for crash reporting, diagnostics and product analytics. These services may process app version, device and operating-system information, technical identifiers, app events, screen use, network information and crash details such as stack traces. The app does not explicitly attach your email address, profile selections, quiz answers or article text to its analytics and crash-reporting calls.

Firebase Remote Config provides settings such as update notices. Firebase Cloud Messaging can create a device token for remote messaging, but the app does not request notification permission during cold start. Firebase App Check code is included to provide app-attestation tokens when its native configuration is completed and enabled.

8. Optional Learning Reminder

The learning reminder is optional. The app asks for notification permission only when you enable it in Settings. Where the operating system supports and permits it, the current implementation schedules one local notification for 24 hours after activity. Later app activity replaces it with a new one-time schedule. Disabling the setting, signing out or deleting the account cancels the scheduled reminder. The preference, localized notification text and activity time are stored locally.

9. Purchases and Subscriptions

Subscriptions are disabled in the current app configuration, so no subscription is offered for purchase. The app includes an inactive Adapty integration for possible store-managed subscriptions; its SDK may be initialized for service readiness, but the disabled purchase path does not identify a registered TokIQ account to Adapty.

If subscriptions are offered in another version or configuration, purchase and payment information is handled by Apple App Store or Google Play, while Adapty is used to retrieve products and determine entitlement. The app provides purchase recovery and opens the applicable store's subscription-management page. Deleting a TokIQ account or uninstalling the app does not cancel a store subscription; cancellation must be completed through the store account.

10. Account Deletion and Retention

Anonymous and registered users can choose Delete account in a build where account features are enabled. Registered deletion requires a recent sign-in. The app first asks the backend to delete account data, clears account-scoped local data and reminders, and then deletes the Firebase Authentication identity. Continued use can create a new, unrelated anonymous identity.

Backend deletion removes the profile, preferences, sessions, seen history, generated articles, private generation jobs, rate counters, ranking entry and associated administrator audit records. A minimal tombstone remains to prevent delayed requests or workers from recreating the deleted account. It contains only {deleted: true} and is addressed by a SHA-256 hash of the former random Firebase user ID; it does not contain profile, quiz, email or article content.

The current backend does not define a general automatic deletion period for profile, progress, session, article, ranking, job or tombstone records. The 24-hour answer-expiry rule is an access limit, not a retention period.

11. Service Providers

Depending on enabled features, TokIQ uses Firebase, Railway, Google AdMob and mediation partners, Sentry, Mixpanel and Adapty. Google and Apple sign-in, OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini, Apple App Store and Google Play apply only where the related feature has been configured and made available. Their processing is also governed by their own policies.

12. Children's Privacy

TokIQ is intended for users aged 13 and over and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
